Results. Leadership. Unity.

Meet Vicki Veenker

Mayor Vicki Veenker has served Palo Alto on City Council for four years, last year as Vice Mayor and this year as Mayor. She has produced results through leadership on Palo Alto’s Policy, Finance, Rail, and Climate Committees. By serving as Palo Alto’s Commissioner on the Northern California Power Agency, Vicki has kept our electricity green, reliable and less expensive than PG&E’s. During her tenure on Council, libraries and parks have been restored, police department headcount has increased, housing in the pipeline has increased, and the city’s climate and sustainability program continues to be one of the strongest in the country.

Vicki and her husband have lived in Palo Alto for 34 years, raising two daughters who attended Palo Alto’s public schools. Vicki is a patent and intellectual property attorney who was a partner in national and international law firms. For 20 years she has been serving as a mediator, including for the US International Trade Commission and the federal courts. Fifteen years ago, Vicki co-founded Women’s Professional Soccer, which she served as General Counsel. She also served as Board Member and President of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, bringing access to justice to those who were not otherwise able to afford representation.

Vicki loves Palo Alto and is uniquely positioned to help this city achieve its potential as a place to live, work, raise children, retire, and where all are welcome and belong.
